I have been scrapping for almost 4 1/2 years. It all began for me after the birth of our son, Luke. This passion quickly grew into an Ebay store, then we created the Embellished website in July 2005. In May, 2007 We opened Embellished in Rockhampton. I am a florist by trade and a keen photographer. Scrapbooking has been the much needed creative outlet in my life since having Luke. In 2006 I bought my first DSLR and a passion for photography has been growing ever since. I started off with a Canon 350D and now have upgraded my way to a Canon 50D and now Canon 5D Mark II. I am married to my wonderful husband Gary and we have one son, Benson who is three. We live in the northern beaches of Wollongong in Australia – I think one of the most beautiful places on this earth. I discovered scrapbooking when I was pregnant with Benson and my first project was his birth announcement cards. I was so proud of them then, but now look at them and think of what I could have done! Scrapbooking to me is a wonderful combination of story telling, beautiful photos and creativity. I am fortunate that both my husband and I have a keen interest in photography so there is never a shortage of photos to scrap. I love to use handwritten journaling and layers of patterned papers. I am a huge fan of new products and have the stash to prove it. As a way to record my stories for when I have time to scrapbook them, I started blogging. I started scrapbooking almost 10 years ago through Creative Memories. At the time I only had 4 children and thought I would have plenty of time. As time went on our family grew to 6 children, but I have always been able to find time to continue this hobby. I crossed over to the 'dark side' about 5 years ago and have never looked back. Scrapbooking has bencome more than just a way to preserve my photos and memories, but a creative expression. I joined the Embellished Team in June 2008. I currently teach in store at Embellished each week. I was awarded 'Scrapbooking Memories' Master for 2008 and am excited to be challenged while working for the Magazine. I am super excited to join the fabulous, uber talented Embellished Design Team. Making cards and layouts is the Thing I do. A neighbor accurately described it as a bit more than a hobby but not yet a job. Here in Denver Colorado I am fortunate to stay home with my two beautiful girls while having a little freedom to do the Thing I do. My style is pretty much recognizable because my work is quite structured and I use a lot of black in my projects. If I can matt paper, embellies or prima's on black I will! I love designing cards for all occasions because I have one of those "instant gratification" personalities - I can whip out a card in 10min flat and get the same rush of a job done as I would after spending hours on a layout. Because of this I have way more cards stashed in a box than I have layouts ;)
